Diogenes the Dog partners with the regeneratively farmed Danebury Vineyards in Hampshire, a privately owned estate rooted in horse-racing history. Unlike many other English Wine producers, they have remained focussed on the more traditional white grape varieties that had been popular in England in the late 80’s and early 90’s.
Their wines are made exclusively from grapes harvested from their single-vineyard estate. They follow regenerative viticultural practices — protecting and enhancing soil health, sequestering carbon, and promoting biodiversity both in the vineyard and the surrounding landscape.
Maddy is a low intervention orange wine, with 36 hours of skin contact.
Filtered with a single coarse filter, and use of bentonite clays for fining makes this wine vegan, and no cold stabilisation chemicals or techniques are applied.
This is a clean style of orange wine, with wonderful bright acidity and delicate citrous notes, wrapped in soft yet grippy tannins.
Sulphites are a natural biproduct of fermentation. As a fermented product, this wine contains sulphites.
